President's Message

With all the continuing news on how industry is having a harmful impact on the environment, we at Armor Coatings are grateful and proud to state that powder coating is an environmentally “green” process. No volatile chemicals are emitted into the atmosphere and no toxic chemicals end up in the sewer. This not only helps make our workplace safer, but reduces our overall impact on the environment.

Did you know that powder coating, in almost every application, produces a superior product over traditional wet paint? A powder-coater can choose from the following chemistries: an epoxy with extremely high chemical resistance, a polyester with moderate chemical resistance but superior ultraviolet resistance, and a hybrid with good chemical resistance and moderate ultraviolet resistance. Hundreds of colors and sheens, as well as textures and special finishes are represented by these chemistries. In addition, advances in powder technology will soon allow us to powder coat non-metallic objects such as woods and plastics.

We welcome and value the opportunity to work with our customers to assist them in engineering a lower cost end-product. Often, we can suggest ways to manufacture a part or product which can be powder coated in the "raw" or rough stage and then be machined. This can eliminate many internal masking and painting procedures and reduce finishing costs substantially. We can also help implement other efficiencies that result in cost saving measures as well. If we can assist industry in turning out parts with a superior finish at a lower cost, then we have helped develop a win/win situation for our customers and ourselves.
